Hans Post
Hans Post was born in 1926 in what is now eastern Germany. He was part of the Hitler Youth and volunteered for the Wafen SS. He was an elite swimmer and an expert marksman, which led him to be trained as a sniper. He served in Otto Skorzeny's unit in the Battle of the Bulge. After the war, Hans spent time in a prisoner of war camp in post war Belgium. He married his first wife after the war and raised a family. He immigrated to Australia in 1959 and was widowed in the mid 1970s. In the late 1970s he married again to Gina (a Jew), became a librarian, peace activist, atheist, anarchist and a staunch environmentalist. He lives on the New South Wales Southcoast.
