Prague Spring/Czech Crisis, 1968 Homework
OH NO!! Not another homework!!
* read about the Prague Spring/Czech Crisis, 1968 incident from the Brooman pdf (Cold War Brooman Soviets in EE)
* also, read about the issue here from the BBC. On your homework sheet, draw a cartoon (15cm x 15cm) that summarizes the article best.
* View a scene from Prague Spring here; on your homework sheet, describe the feelings and emotions you would be experiencing if you were TWO people: 1. a young male/female under the age of 22 (in 1968). 2. an elderly male/female over the age of 60 (in 1968). This should be one paragraph each. Remember, the history of Czechoslovakia... 1918 a new country (used to be part of Austrian-Hungarian Empire); the appeasing West betrays it in 1938; it becomes a Soviet 'Mini Me' by 1948 and is stuck behind the Iron Curtain. The Czechs have always been a feisty and proud bunch, so this situation never has sat well with them... remember too, that the Czechs are only one cultural group of many in Czechoslovakia (there are Slovaks, Hungarians, Romanians and others who resent the Czechs dominant position in the country).

Attach a voice bubble to the two characters in the cartoon. Print out the cartoon and paste it on your homework sheet.
You are finished!!
